Forget the Roses, Stop and Seek God

I don’t know about you ladies but boy I’ve been one busy lady this month.  My dad often says “girl if you don’t slow down you’re gonna run into yourself walking out the door one day” and that couldn’t be truer.  Spring break and the vacation that goes along with it has come and gone, kids an myself are back in school to finish out the semester, back to work and that crazy schedule, husband has traveled the past 3 weeks and only home on weekends, I’ll be traveling next week and have 2 papers coming due at school and it’s still March.  Looking back I’d swear we were in May by now!?!?!
Because of this crazy and hectic day, week, month that we’ve had we decided to do absolutely nothing this past weekend.  We laid around, cleaned house, went to the park and read our books, and even went to the movies.  Heck that was all on Saturday , even when we’re relaxing we’re on the go.  So Sunday morning rolls around, the alarm clock goes off and Carl says, “let’s go to church baby”.  I thought “ugghhh I’m tired, I have homework, unpacking to do, luncheon to do and a test to take tonight I don’t have time.  He said “come on honey, once you go you’ll be happy you went.  We’ve been going every weekend and really enjoying it” and boy was he right!!  I’m so glad to have him to remind me of that, I went, I sang, I cried and left rejuvenated and ready to tackle the day!
We sometimes feel that we don’t’ have time for Church, we don’t have time for God, that’ll just get in the way of everything else I have planned today.  Well, ladies, it’s not God that gets in the way of life; it’s LIFE THAT GETS IN THE WAY OF OUR GOD.  It’s not cool, it’s not fair but it’s the truth.  Ladies, we need to slow down.  I could have been a little late to my luncheon, I could have stayed up late to do my homework, heck I could have done my homework instead of going to the movies Saturday.  It’s all about priorities, and until we get them straight we’re gonna be lost.  It’s as simple as that.
So let us be each others accountability partners and remind each other of how we fit our life into God’s plans, not how we fit God into our plan!  I know Raynisia, Reda and myself all hope that these blogs help you all through your daily struggles, hardships and victories and help remind you of His everlasting love.

Here are a few versus:
Deuteronomy 4:29
But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
Psalm 69:32
The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.

Be bold ladies, be strong, and seek Him!

  1. I was reminded of this by a very dear friend last night. I was allowing someones irresponsibility and unaccountability to affect the way I was feeling and thinking. She pointed out how much my life has changed since I turned it over to God. I am thankful and grateful for all that I have been given.
